Environmental Science & AP Environmental Science
Environmental Science and AP Environmental Science are year-long science courses originally designed by Roosevelt students to introduce the science of the world around us and the challenges we face. In these classes, we use hands-on laboratory activities, outdoor field work, collaborative technology and field trips to develop scientific understandings that will allow us to appreciate what's happening in our environment.
In these courses, we study environmental issues organized in the following units that align with the College Board's AP Environmental Science course design:
- 1st Quarter
History of Environmentalism

Unit 2: The Living World: Biodiversity
- 2nd Quarter
Unit 3: Populations
Unit 4: Earth Systems and Resources
Unit 5: Land and Water Use
- 3rd Quarter

Unit 7: Atmospheric Pollution
Unit 8: Aquatic and Terrestrial Pollution
- 4th Quarter
Unit 9: Global Change
Unit 10: Sustainability
